029] How to Split Polygon Areas with Intersecting Lines in Global Mapper

Image
Learn how to efficiently divide single area features into multiple individual parcels using the "Crop Area to Lines" workflow. This tutorial demonstrates how to split large polygon areas into separate features using crossing lines. This workflow is critical for urban planning and simulation projects where individual parcels require unique attributes or elevation values. In this tutorial, we will explore a simple yet essential function in Global Mapper. 🎥 Video Tutorial: Cutting Areas with Lines Need to split a single polygon into multiple pieces based on road lines or boundaries? Watch the video below! It provides a quick, visual guide on how to use the Digitizer tool to seamlessly crop and split selected area features using intersecting lines. [008] How to Understand CGA Rule Structure in CityEngine (Beginner Guide)

Image
Struggling to understand how CGA rules actually connect to the CityEngine interface? CGA rules define attributes, constants, and functions that directly control 3D geometry and automatically generate UI elements inside the CityEngine Inspector panel. In this tutorial, you will quickly learn the basic structure of CGA (Computer Generated Architecture) and how attributes, constants, and rules directly control both 3D geometry and the Inspector panel . Below is a simple CGA code example to help you quickly understand the overall structure. If you have studied any programming language, you will likely grasp the general structure, even if you don't know the exact meaning of every single line. # Building color @Color attr BD_color = "#00ffff" # Number of floors @Range(min=1, max=5, stepsize=1) attr BD_floor = 3 # Floor height @Range(min=3, max=5, stepsize=0.1) const floor_Height = 3 # Total height calcula...

046] How to Create Parallel Offset Lines in Global Mapper

Image
Learn how to generate multiple parallel offset lines from selected vector features at precise intervals. This tutorial demonstrates the dedicated parallel line creation tool in Global Mapper. We move beyond the old workaround of converting buffers to lines and explore the settings for spacing, directional orientation, and non-overlapping geometry to streamline your GIS drafting workflow. In this tutorial, we will learn how to create precise parallel offset lines in Global Mapper using the built-in Advanced Feature Creation tool. Previously, this specific feature was not available in Global Mapper. In the past, we had to draw buffer lines and then convert those buffers back into line features to achieve a similar result. Let’s get started. Creating Parallel Offset Lines in Global Mapper First, draw a line on the screen and select it. img 2 : Right-click menu showing Advanced Feature Creation Options R...
